The role
Reporting to the Principal Finance Officer, Asset Accounting this exciting role provides Asset Accounting activities and analysis, and specialist advice to management in relation to Asset Accounting matters to adequately respond to new public sector financial management initiatives.
This role plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Queensland Health by sharing expertise with peers and colleagues, conducting detailed analysis to optimize the Finance Branch's efficiency and the integrity of the Department of Health's general ledger and asset register.
The successful person
You will have demonstrated:
- Demonstrates a good working knowledge of, and recent experience in contributing to, the practical application of Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Reporting Requirements for Queensland Government Agencies, Queensland Treasury's Non-Current Asset Policy, legislation, contemporary financial management practices and policies.
- Demonstrated experience in the proficient use of contemporary financial management information technology, together with experience in the research, review, interpretation, and analysis of information to assist in formulating recommendations and reports to management.
- Demonstrates ability to successfully deliver a range of activities and projects within tight and conflicting timeframes and deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience in assisting in the preparation of comprehensive and well-rounded advice to management and other stakeholders and in assisting with the review of policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms.
- Demonstrated involvement and success in the contribution to continuous improvement programs and initiatives in the areas of operational Asset Accounting, with demonstrated ability to work within and thrive in successful teams.
