The Gastevski Group is a family owned and operated company with several food, beverage and entertainment venues in the emerging northern suburbs and across the metropolitan area. With a rapidly expanding portfolio of operations in the Peel region, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Venue Manager to join the group. This role will have the option to be based at our new venue The Lakelands Tavern in Lakelands or Sandy Cove Tavern in south Yunderup.
The Role:
- stock maintenance, ordering, purchase and pricing according to budget
- planning and organising special functions/ seasonal events
- discussing menus and new dishes with Chefs
- keeping records of stock levels and financial transactions
- ensuring the restaurant and bar areas are clean, tidy and comply with health regulations
- customer service
- staff rostering
- assisting with staff recruitment, training and supervision.
Your Profile
To be the successful candidate you will:
- be passionate and driven about food and beverage;
- strong attention to detail coupled with natural leadership abilities;
- have exceptional time management, communication and conceptual skills;
- be ready to put in the hard work and the hours and be enthusiastic, motivated and want to work with a like-minded team.
- Have the availability to work nights and weekends as required based on a minimum of 45 hours per week
- Have the ability to maintain and improve expenditure budgets set for venue
- Work with the costs of doing business – ensure controllable expenses are in line with budgets
- To be diligent with audit and compliance - achievement of results reflective of focused and motivated manager
- Have the ability to take initiative to improve venue offering to patrons
- Show commitment to improve oneself in educating, nurturing and leading staff group
Human Skills:
•Neat and clean personal presentation
•Ability to co-ordinate a number of tasks at the same time
Qualifications:
•Police Clearance
•Industry License's & accreditation i.e. RSA, Approved Managers Course
•Qualifies to meet the State liquor licensing requirements
•Diploma in Hospitality Management (or equivalent) or at least three years of full time relevant experience in hospitality management
