The RoleWe are looking to appoint an Assistant Workshop/Laboratory Technician to join our team based in our office at St Peters, Sydney.
Reporting to the Lab Manager, you will:
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Work from plans, drawings, and other instructions.
- Assist in constructing scale building models.
- Assist in handling testing equipment.
- Assist in workshop improvements and maintenance.
- Support workshop and engineering works.
- Participate in training as required.
- Assist in any unplanned tasks as required.
The successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated organisational skills
- A collaborative team-based approach
- A creative problem-solving mindset
- A high aptitude in practical areas such as instrumentation and electronics, sensors, robotics or computer programming will be viewed favourably
- Previous experience in an engineering laboratory and / or workshop environment
- Previous experience in operating hand tools and carpentry desirable
- Previous experience in woodwork, metal work or other manufacturing techniques highly desirable
