As a key player in the industry, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Associate Director of Fibre Architecture & Planning. Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Transport and Fibre Engineering, this role is pivotal in shaping the strategic direction and standards for our fibre and aerial network on a national scale.
The day to day
You will lead a team of multidisciplinary technical leads, specialists, and engineers with the following key responsibilities:
Oversee the end-to-end design and network planning of Optus' fibre network, ensuring alignment with overall strategy and business drivers.
Set the strategic direction, architecture, and standards for the Optus fibre and aerial network nationally, supporting all of Optus' network and revenue streams.
Drive a reduction in long-term unit cost while meeting customer experience (CX) KPIs, supported by cross-functional collaboration with Architecture, Design, Deployment, and Finance teams.
Develop and deliver use cases for automation tools and systems to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet network performance and capacity business requirements.
Release engineering plans supporting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) growth, resiliency, and modernization plans in a cost-effective manner.
Ensure timely capacity planning and monitoring of the Fibre Network to meet Network and CX performance KPIs.
What makes you perfect for the role?
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience in a leadership role in fibre network planning and engineering.
In-depth knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, fibre optic networks, and industry trends.
Strong project management and team leadership skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
