Your opportunity

As an Associate Director in Group Strategy, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of major strategic pieces of work for the enterprise, to inform the strategic decision making.

You will work with Group Strategy colleagues to develop robust research and analysis, prepare high quality and compelling presentations, and communicate recommendations to Executives across the Bank to influence the delivery of strategic initiatives.

You will be proactive, able to manage multiple streams of work, maintain a strong customer focus, and demonstrate an ability to coach and support junior colleagues.

About the role

Driving development and delivery of significant initiatives utilising strategic rationale, risk assessment and financial assessment
Synthesising findings and developing compelling, structured business presentations that clearly articulate recommendations
Partner with Business Units and Enabling Units to ensure their strategies and strategic priorities align with those set by the Group
Leading projects and large workstreams and supporting junior team members
Providing input to the business planning processes
Supporting the execution and delivery of specific strategy initiatives
Developing and maintaining relationships with colleagues and senior leaders across NAB
Developing industry relationships and an understanding of the banking sector and trends, including key implications for the business

What you will bring

Minimum 4-6 years’ experience ideally in Corporate Development, Investment/Mergers Acquisitions (and/or similar related), gained either at an investment bank, in a consulting firm, in-house with a large corporate or equivalent (previous financial services experiences is highly regarded)
Strategic thinker, focused on driving and delivering long term benefit to NAB
Strong business partnering experience with the ability to engage, collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated experience in complex problem solving and managing streams of work
A positive attitude and strong motivation for continuous learning and development
Relevant tertiary qualification and a post graduate qualification (preferably MBA or equivalent) would be highly regarded
