The Associate Director for Lending Services Institutional is critical to making this happen and will be responsible for managing the Bank’s high risk and impaired assets across the Institutional business. This role balances obtaining the best financial outcomes for ANZ, reducing Risk Weighted Assets (high risk and impaired assets), treating customers fairly and ethically, and managing reputational risk.
In this role, your work will involve (but will not be limited to) the following:
Develop and execute remediation strategies on high risk accounts;
Manage a diverse portfolio of high-risk accounts - influencing transaction structures, solutions around risk mitigation and implementing business strategies;
Supporting the strategic direction/objectives for risk management in the Business;
Managing provisions within expectations such that there are no surprises;
Build and maintain a shadow function that is highly respected bank-wide and earns Lending Services the title of ‘Trusted Advisor’;
Keeping stakeholders within the Bank adequately informed;
Supporting and facilitating an increased awareness of risk policy and goals among staff and key stakeholders;
Modelling and promoting Risk Management's values of: Operating with Integrity and Trust, Being Open Minded, Displaying Courageous Behaviour, Innovative Thinking, and Uncompromising Performance Standards; and
Leadership of junior staff - Managers and Assistant Managers, ensuring that they have the level of support required.

What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
Extensive experience within the Banking or Financial services industry and experience working with high-risk customers preferred;
Relevant tertiary qualifications within the Finance, Banking and/or Legal fields;
Proven experience structuring transactions and security arrangements;
Sound credit judgement and strong financial analysis skills;
Extensive experience working directly with customers;
Highly developed negotiation & influencing skills; and
Interpersonal skills – confidence, professionalism, integrity and strong sense of accountability.
