About our Business
Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services.
Capital Structuring (CapS) is made up of a several customer centric product specialists who partner with relationship bankers to originate, structure, execute and monitor lending & leasing facilities. We provide the core end-to-end product and pricing infrastructure supported by a disciplined approach to governance that enables us to manage financial and non-financial portfolio risks. The team includes Credit Portfolio Management, Structured Asset Finance, Securitisation, Private Equity & Structured Finance, Global Lending Product & Transformation, and Line 1 Operational Risk & Control.

The Global Compliance Monitoring team sits under the Global Lending Product & Transformation function and is responsible to monitoring and assessing undertaking obligations for Institutional clients managed by the Global Institutional Banking Coverage team, in IB&M. The team’s remit is to ensure that the Bank and the client deliver on transactional obligations within set service agreements.
Your impact & contribution:
Reporting into the Senior Associate, you will manage compliance requirements – spanning across financial statement analysis, Insurance and Valuation reviews and assessments, contribute to process improvements and maintaining operational risk outcomes by focussing on data integrity and effective reporting.
Further responsibilities will include:
- Maintain effective client records within the Deal Management System
- Ensure diarised undertakings are followed up and assessed in accordance with bank policy and defined SLAs.
- Direct liaison with clients in relation to enquires relating to their compliance requirements under their Facility Agreements with Commonwealth Bank
- Monitor client’s adherence to the provision of compliance reporting on time and in adherence to individual covenant obligations.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal customers and stakeholders – including those in international locations.
- Complete trend analysis on the Institutional Lending and Leasing client’s financial position and performance and make appropriate recommendations to Risk Management at an individual client level or industry level.
- Initiate the breach management process providing summary of analysis or events to Risk assisting in their assessment.
- Identify and take accountability for delivering continuous improvement opportunities across the team and stakeholders.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
- An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Economics
- Experience working with Institutional lending and leasing products and clients with exposure to financial statements analysis, credit decisions, or risk recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience handling issues related to operational risk, process, or business management.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to form relationships with external and internal customers and become a trusted partner to the business.
- A CAN-DO attitude. Ability to collaborate with team members and contribute to a dynamic working environment, but also work effectively in an autonomous capacity.
- A strong customer service mentality and proactive approach to your day-to-day activities
