Associate Infrastructure Services Specialist within the Mainframe
Infrastructure Services team is required to support Westpac's complex mainframe environment and increase their technical expertise.The role plays an important role in the development and maintenance of technical solutions within the Mainframe and ensures that the detailed design and operations are fit for purpose.
Your role will include:- Undertake basic problem diagnoses, correction and support to resolve incidents / issues as required and escalate those that cannot be resolved to ensure resolution within a timely manner.
- Assist with problem determination and root cause analysis as directed to ensure permanent corrective actions are implemented appropriately.
- Assist with the Westpac Change Management process, lodging the details in the service management tool and assist in implementing the infrastructure change where applicable including post implementation verification checks (using standard checks to make sure nothing broke from the change that was implemented).
- Assist with backup and recovery procedures and plan and undertake effective Disaster Recovery and testing procedures to ensure effective Disaster Recovery plans are developed, documented, tested and implemented.
- Conduct basic aspects of capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning of specific infrastructure components and implement new releases as required to ensure the stability and availability of technology Infrastructure Services to the business.
- Assists in providing effective and expert technical advice to ensure that agreed standards and processes within Westpac are adhered to and fulfil regulatory obligations on day-to-day basis.

What do I need?This role is part of our EmPower Up return to work program, created for people who have had career break of 2 years or more and are now looking to return to the workforce.
- 1+ years' experience in a complex IT infrastructure environment
- Advanced knowledge in 1 or more relevant Infrastructure domains
- Strong analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting and consultative skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Tertiary qualifications in IT or related discipline, or equivalent experience
