The Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic Associate Nurse Unit Managers (ANUM) to join the Mental health team at Northern Health. These roles are based at the new Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Northern Hospital and will be responsible for the effective day to day clinical management of the unit.
We are currently seeking 2 permanent and ongoing ANUMs to join our team and 1 fixed term ANUM to cover a maternity leave position.
The new Mental Health Build is an adult acute Mental Health unit consisting of 30 new Mental Health beds. This is a brand new facility, opened in mid 2023. This project was referred to as the Pathway to 144 Mental Health beds (P144 project) and is part of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System (RCVMHS) Interim Report recommendations.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A current registration with AHPRA and a Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or, Bachelor Degree in Nursing plus a Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
- You will have extensive clinical experience and expertise in Mental Health with a minimum of 3 years post registration experience in variety of Mental Health settings
- Demonstrated clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary workforce.
- Ability to negotiate and communicate with staff and other service providers
- Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills
- Active leadership in Recovery Oriented Practice in line with the National Recovery Framework
