Teachers and school administrators employed at Narrogin Senior High School in 2024 are eligible to receive an of $5,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.As an integral member of the executive leadership team, you will lead and develop innovative solutions; establish and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with stakeholders, and build a culture of professional excellence with leaders, teachers, and allied staff so that students are future-ready and able to contribute effectively in the wider community.The successful applicant will have demonstrated outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to achieving exceptional educational outcomes for all students: student engagement is our priority. Ideally these skills will see you negotiate effectively and develop and maintain strong relationships with staff and students. As the successful applicant you would establish a performance and development culture through a deep understanding of how to coach beginning and experienced staff and build their confidence to explore and excel in cultivating their practices particularly focusing on the quality of physical, social, and emotional environments at school.The successful applicant would lead the school’s Care with Integrity domain, line managing Student Services leading a team of staff to embed and review the school’s Trauma Informed Practice, Multi-Tiered Support Systems and Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework to support the complex needs of our students. With a school-wide focus on student sense of belonging, you will identify and implement professional learning opportunities for staff that are aligned with the student needs and school business plan.As a highly visible leader, you will exhibit a love of learning and a growth mindset. Currency in contemporary understanding of leading school improvement, change initiatives and the ability to effectively use evidence-based data to inform decision-making should underpin your successful practice. As a highly successful instructional leader, you will ideally possess strong professional knowledge to support quality differentiation of curriculum, learning and assessment that reflect contemporary pedagogical research and practices so that our students are engaged and equipped with 21st century skills.The successful applicant will exhibit a broad skillset with the capacity to provide leadership in the school’s pastoral care accompanied by overseeing a section of the school preferable Senior School, depending on requirements and strengths, (which will rotate between the executive team members to meet school needs). The applicant should possess appropriate knowledge and transferable skills that would allow them to lead the other portfolios as needed. Creating and promoting an environment conducive to active and positive learning, and which caters for different student learning needs, is essential. In addition, the ability to engage students using a range of instructional approaches, knowledge of effective classroom management strategies and restorative practices will be considered favourably.About UsNarrogin SHS is an Independent Public School and situated in the heart of Western Australia's rich agricultural area and with over 550 students we are one of the largest Senior High Schools in the Wheatbelt region, with three local feeder primary schools and TAFE that work closely with the school. Narrogin is a major service and educational centre about two hours drive (193 km) from Perth and has the convenience of a country town with the benefits of a regional city. The hinterland is a farming area, with grain and wool production the major primary activities. The town’s motto Love the Life is true to form with many activities and events for everyone to enjoy. Appointed applicants are eligible for subsidised quality housing and relocation costs, along with additional payments relevant to the area.This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy.   • High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
  • Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
  • Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.
