The role
We have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced practitioner with 4 years’ + post admission experience to join our Brisbane Disputes and Insolvency team on a permanent full-time basis.
You will be part of a dynamic team and will be responsible for the provision of complex advice to private and public sector clients on a diverse range of exciting commercial and insolvency disputes.
This role is ideal for a practitioner looking to take the next step towards developing their own client base in conjunction with the broader team’s existing client base. You will have support from the Partners and your colleagues to refine your business development skills and to build your practice.
The key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Managing a portfolio of dispute resolution and insolvency matters from start to finish, including conducting research, drafting pleadings and submissions, attending court, and negotiating settlements.
- Providing legal advice and support to clients on various disputes and insolvency matters, including bankruptcy, liquidation, receivership, and insolvency litigation.
- Working collaboratively with clients, partners, and other team members to develop and implement effective strategies to resolve disputes and insolvency matters.
- Assisting in the development and training of junior team members.
Role Requirements
The successful applicant will possess the following:
- 4+ years’ post admission experience.
- Previous experience working in disputes and insolvency litigation.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- A high level of attention to detail and commitment to technical excellence.
- High-level problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new tasks quickly.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, together with the capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities.
- Ability and willingness to develop your own network and actively participate in marketing and business development activities.
