Litigation Team

Our client's Litigation team has worked on many of Australia's high-profile commercial disputes and Royal Commissions, producing both successful litigated and negotiated outcomes. Notably, several partners within the team are continuously recognised as experts in their field by external directories including Best Lawyers Australia, Chambers Asia Pacific, Benchmark Asia Pacific and Legal 500 Asia Pacific. 

Their pre-eminent client base operate across various sectors, including: banking and finance, consumer goods & retail, energy & resources, entertainment & film, government, health & life-sciences, hospitality & tourism and technology, media & telecommunications, meaning that the work covered by the group is interesting and diverse.

The Position
 
There is currently a rare opportunity for talented Litigation Associates/Senior Associates to join this prominent team, and be deeply involved in high-stakes court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations within Australia and internationally. 

You will be involved in various matters, including:

• commercial and contractual disputes;
• representing clients in international arbitrations and investigations including ASIC and the ACCC investigations, as well as in Royal Commissions and other Commissions of inquiry;
• proceedings involving insolvency issues and restructuring;
• competition and consumer law matters;
• telecommunications disputes;
• advising on the Corporations Act, including directors duties and shareholder action;

You will be mentored by highly experienced partners who are well-known as expert commercial litigators, while also trusted to manage and supervise more junior lawyers within the team. 
 
Requirements
 
The successful candidate will have a between 2 and 8 years post admission experience in commercial litigation gained from another highly-regarded firm.
  
In addition, you will have:

• excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• the ability to work autonomously and within a team; and 
• strong commercial acumen.
