The Norwood Flames Basketball Club and Adelaide Community Basketball Association (ACBA) combined form Adelaide’s biggest basketball club, with over 60 district teams and 400 domestic teams. The club is currently looking for an Association Integrity Officer to join their team based in Campbelltown.
The Role
The Association Integrity Officer will ensure the implementation of Integrity Australia’s child safety practices across both Norwood and ACBA. The role will also assist the Norwood Coaching Director in ensuring that all volunteers meet the requirements and contribute to the establishment and upkeep of club frameworks regarding child safety.
This is a casual role that will require approximately 10 hours per week, with the possibility for more during peak times. Please note that there will be minimal requirements over the December/January period.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Assist ACBA clubs in implementing child safety practices in accordance with Integrity Australia
- Ensure all volunteers have completed the required documentation and met the volunteer requirements outlined by Integrity Australia
- Support the development and implementation of ACBA club structures
- Regularly monitor and evaluate ACBA club activities to ensure adherence to relevant policies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to organise trainings/workshops for club members and volunteers
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as necessary
- Liaise with relevant bodies and stakeholders as a point of contact
- Maintain Member Protection Committee Records and Penalties
- Injury and Incidents Records and follow up
The Association Integrity Officer will have previous experience in a similar role involving child safety implementation, sporting club governance or policy development. They have excellent organizational skills and are a strong communicator, who is able to collaborate with various stakeholders.
They also possess the following:
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current South Australian Police Check
- Response to Abuse and Neglect training
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to child safety or volunteer management
- Strong literacy skills
- Professional presentation
- An interest in Basketball and/or other local sports
