- Adhere to processes and procedures, and directions in relation to food safety and quality management.
- Report any identified food safety risks in a timely manner.
- Conduct sample preparation for chemical residue, lateral flow and PCR analysis.
- Ensure best practice methods are used to maximise efficiencies.
- Conduct testing using LCMS and GCMS to generate data for review.
- Conduct lateral flow strip testing and PCR quantification.
- Record data and test results in the specified format.
- Contribute to and maintain appropriate regulatory requirements for NATA accreditation to ISO17025 standards.
- Contribute to the achievement in advancement of new and existing technical capabilities of the laboratory and reporting activities.
- A tertiary qualification in relevant science discipline.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in good laboratory practices.
- Demonstrated experience using LCMS and/or GCMS is highly regarded.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, be self-motivated and proactive.
- Demonstrated experience of quantitative PCR techniques and assay development.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate and interact with staff at all levels.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and other relevant scientific software.
- Ability to accurately maintain laboratory records for traceability.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and use knowledge and initiative.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with strict deadlines.
