POSITION OVERVIEW:
Elevate the production value of customers' internal and external events with your expert AV and event management skills. Be the technical maestro, ensuring seamless execution from setup to post-production.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Promptly notify the Senior Event Technician and Event Tech Team Lead of any upcoming high-priority events.
- Provide support for internal and external events in customer offices, including but not limited to content displaying on video walls, routing and mixing video and audio signals, and recording and live streaming via the customer LIVE GO function.
- Provide daily technical checks and day-to-day troubleshooting for AV equipment within the customer's location.
- Work on high-profile events, including video and audio mixing; ensure smooth camera movement and operations, camera framing, lighting, floor management, and have a solid understanding of sophisticated AV event systems.
- Work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment involving live events, IPTV, video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams, etc.), training room management, and general AV infrastructure support.
- Work closely with other AV team members across APAC and backing up each other. Troubleshoot systems and provide solutions if any issues occur during the event.
- Troubleshoot sophisticated audio, video, switching, and control system problems to the best of its capability. For any items that cannot be troubleshooted, the dedicated resource shall communicate this to the customer point of contact.
- Handle technical, event, and incident management escalations in a timely manner. Pre-check all AV equipment before every event to ensure the entire system is working without issue.
- Manage audio setup to ensure proper sound levels for the audience inside the MPR; and ensure good sound quality and levels are received in remote locations.
- Prepare/upload presentation material (e.g., PowerPoint slides, PDF files, video clips, etc.) on customer PCs for AV events, conferences, or meetings.
- Deliver post-event recording edits in a format agreed upon between both parties.
- Document event/operational workflows and standard operating procedures (“SOPs“) when required.
- Onsite Monday to Friday (regular office hours) in the Sydney CBD area.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Media Production, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred (not mandatory for highly experienced candidates)
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a live event technician, demonstrating proficient AV system operation and troubleshooting in high-pressure environments.
- Experience working with sophisticated AV event systems and corporate AV needs is crucial.
Technical Skills:
- Proven expertise in operating professional audio, video, and lighting.
- Strong understanding of AV signal routing, mixing, control systems, and video conferencing rooms.
- Experience in live camera operation, vision mixing, lighting techniques, and floor management during live events.
- Proficiency in video conferencing platforms like Zoom, Webex, MS Teams, etc.
- Working knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for working with AV equipment and electrical systems.
- Troubleshooting of AV event systems and their applications.
Software Proficiency:
- Knowledge of AV control software and configuration tools.
- Experience with video editing software for light post-production tasks.
- Ability to manage AV-related ticketing systems efficiently.
