The Collection Management Branch is responsible for transferring, storing, preserving and digitising the National Archives' collection so it remains accessible for future generations.
The Preservation section is responsible for the preservation and long-term accessibility of the most significant records of the Commonwealth in both physical and digital form. We carry out daily activities and make long term decisions to ensure that the collection will be available years from now regardless of technology.
The National Archives is looking for APS 4Audiovisual Preservation Digitisation and Quality Assurance officers to undertake duties associated with the preservation digitisation of the audiovisual collection, including identification, examination, repackaging, cataloguing and copying of audiovisual records in accordance with preservation standards.
The position of Film Preservation Digitisation Officer requires excellent attention to detail and a capacity to handle, repackage and store audio-visual items to approved standards.
The Digitisation, Quality Assurance and Ingest for Film formats position require attention to detail, knowledge of historical audio-visual formats and experience with preservation and digital archiving.
An understanding of audio-visual analogue production paths and digitisation practices is highly desirable. A background in audio-visual production and postproduction or relevant tertiary qualifications would also be an advantage.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the role you must be an Australian citizen. If you are selected, you will be required to successfully undergo a pre-employment check and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at a Baseline clearance level.
