About your new role: 

As a member of the Substation Design & Engineering team, you will apply your knowledge and experience to successfully deliver safe, effective, and efficient design and commissioning support.

This is a technical role where you will be involved in the design and delivery of real time control system hardware and software systems for our network’s master station, substation, generator and lines projects.

You will be presented with an environment where you will be able to grow and develop your computing, networking, configuration and programming skills with the latest technologies. Contribute to the team goals via preparation of estimates, delivery of quality designs, verification and design support of commissioning, operational and maintenance activities on projects. 

Annual salary ranges from $128,196.00 to $167,311.00 + Super; 9 or 10-day fortnight. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position.

About you: 

As a Automation Design Paraprofessional, you will have:

  • An Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or relevant equivalent qualification).
  • Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic is desirable but not essential.
  • In depth knowledge and demonstrated experience in the design principles and practices of automation control systems – experience in SCADA systems.
  • Sound knowledge of automation systems construction, installation, testing and commissioning requirements, maintenance and operations of high voltage plant and equipment and secondary systems.
  • Specialist knowledge of the Safe Design principles and Safety requirements.
  • Ability to work as part of a team - develop and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders and a willingness to contribute to development of peers through technical support and knowledge and experience sharing.
