ABOUT THE ROLE
The Automation Engineer role involves further refining and optimising the current automation design. The work is with large scale automation software, PLCs, IIot and Industrial Networking.
Working within a fast paced team to test the system to ensure functionality and monitor systems to quickly address problems, it will require experience with Ignition or SCADA systems and a willingness to learn new skills.
It will need a strong ability to think outside the box and come up with code to solve problems and run mission critical systems.
ABOUT YOU
The right candidate will have experience in PLC based Software design with a degree in Engineering (Software, Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics).
The ideal applicant will have the following:
- Experience in Structured Text, library development and efficient coding practices
- Fluent in programming concepts such as version control, object-oriented design and team-based development
- Knowledgeable in Industrial Networking Protocols such as OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus, RS485
- Knowledge of IIoT architectures and implementations including ISA95 data modelling, sparkplugB standards is advantageous but not essential
- Proven experience collaborating within an engineering team to resolve design issues
- Exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset
- An ability to manage a demanding and varied workload while remaining organised and focused
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Gold Coast region.
