QUALITY AND SAFETY SPECIALIST

Position Description:
The Quality and Safety Specialist at AVCRO will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with regulatory and company Quality and Safety standards. Reporting to the Quality and Safety Manager, the successful candidate will actively contribute to Aviation Quality and Safety matters, taking a hands-on approach to facilitate effective operations and uphold company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Quality and Safety Manager to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Implement and maintain systems to monitor and enhance Aviation Quality and Safety standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
- Provide hands-on support to staff in matters related to Quality and Safety.
- Participate in the development and delivery of Quality and Safety training programs.
- Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Facilitate communication between different departments to promote a culture of safety and quality.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Quality management qualification/certification
- Auditor / Lead auditor qualification
- Experience working with an aircraft/airline business setting.
- 2+ years’ experience in the Quality and Safety field
- Comprehensive understanding of CASA Part 145, Part 42 and Part 66
Essential Information
The successful candidate must meet specific requirements to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
- This includes the ability to pass an initial Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP) test and maintain compliance with ongoing physical DAMP screening.
- Adherence to the DAMP policy, which mandates a negative reading for both drugs and alcohol at all times while on shift.
- In addition, the candidate must be eligible to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), which includes a Police Check, to ensure their suitability for working in a secure aviation setting.
- A complete medical assessment and clearance will also be required to ensure the candidate's physical fitness for the role.
- This role may at times require national interstate travel.
