You will provide high level technical expertise and leadership in the development, implementation, administration, maintenance and support of ICT systems and services to support state-wide QPS airborne electronic surveillance policing operations.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Provide project management, leadership and direction in the design, development, and implementation of a new video communications system.
• Maintain the existing video communications system, and provide ongoing service and support to ensure the capability remains operational until a new solution is implemented and commissioned.
• Research, analyse, interpret and report on solutions in relation to business and technical issues associated with ICT systems and services, and develop schedules, status and risk management reports in order to meet business requirements and expectations.
• Develop, maintain and foster effective networks with internal and external stakeholders, including technical teams, external agencies, consultants and vendors, to assist in the design and implementation of a new solution.
• Develop and document all work ensuring adherence with QPS and whole of government enterprise architecture processes, and recommend appropriate standards and protocols needed to establish industry standard and best practice architecture when required.
• Present high-level advice, in both oral and written form, regarding technical capability and capacity with QPS stakeholders and senior management, other agencies and external contractors.
Role Requirements
Mandatory
• A Diploma or higher in Aviation Electronics, Electronic Engineering, Technology, ICT, or similar field as deemed equivalent.

• Ability in the use of ICT systems and contemporary electronic principles and practices as they relate to technical surveillance equipment and capabilities is highly desirable.

Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
Highly Desirable:
• Project management experience
• High level knowledge of Telecommunications, Spectrum management (ACMA), microwave, satcom, IoT, IP/ICT, Audio, Video, RF, WiFi, Analytics and/or Bluetooth technologies.
• Understanding of video analytics, video management systems, video transmission / broadcast, audio collection and product distribution.

Special Conditions
The following special conditions are:
• A capacity to undertake the functions of an RF worker in compliance with Service policy in matters pertaining to working at heights, RF exposure, training, and other associated activities.
• The recruitment process requires all applicants to complete and sign a “Health and Suitability Declaration” form stating that they are unaware of any medical condition or predisposing physical or mental characteristic that would preclude them from safely undertaking duties as an Aviation Technical Officer.

• Ability to travel intra/interstate to perform duties and work in a mixture of indoor and outdoor environments as required.
• A current C class licence.
• Applicants are advised that this business unit may schedule some operational activities outside of business hours. The Queensland Public Service Officers & Other Employees Award - State and the State Government Entities Certified Agreement provides compensation for out of hours
