A leading global mining services organisation with operations throughout the world are seeking a permanent Azure Cloud Engineer. This will see you work from their Australian HQ in Brisbane's CBD to support both their corporate enterprise and various mining activities throughout the world!
Your new role
Established several decades ago and headquartered in Australia, this organisation services the operational, business and technical needs of mining companies (and their sites) throughout the world. Operating on five continents with offices in several countries, this organisation works with some of the biggest mining companies in the world. With the aim of enhancing how mine sites operate through the use of cutting-edge technology, operational efficiency and modern working practices, this organisation is seeking to expand by investing in their technological capabilities.
Based in Brisbane, your new role will see you work within the dedicated multidisciplinary IS&T Directorate focused on providing technical solutions and supporting projects across the region. Within this team you will focus on the administration, support and upgrade of their cloud-based infrastructure (focusing on the Azure ecosystem) that underpins the running of the organisation.
Specifically, you will ensure that their Azure infrastructure is up and running 24/7. To achieve this, your role will have a variety of responsibilities such as:
Resolving high level support issues escalated from the IT Support Team
Conducting projects to increase the cloud's availability and functionality (such as migrations, upgrades, etc)
Providing technical advisory services to management
Continual reviewing of active processes and solutions to ensure fit for purpose
Identifying new technologies to be used
Maintaining and updating technical documentation

What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience/knowledge across the following:
Azure and its ecosystem (Synapse, Data Lake, CLI, DevOps, etc)
The Microsoft tech stack - such as Windows 10, Active Directory, PowerShell, Microsoft 365 etc
Cloud and on-prem storage solutions
Security practices, protocols and platforms (such as Microsoft Defender Security Centre)
Experience in Service Management and knowledge of ITIL
Working with stakeholders (internal and external) of all levels
Perfect communication skills (written and verbal)
Full Australian working rights
Currently residing in ANZ (those outside will not be considered)
