As the Principal Cloud Engineer you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organisations Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environment
About the role:
Working in a specialised Cloud Platform team, you will have autonomy as the technology expert within the team.
Core responsibilities:
- Administer, configure, and maintain cloud services and applications, including Microsoft 365 (M365) and Azure resources and networks.
- Monitor and manage M365 services such as Entra, SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive for Business
- Design, configure and document Azure shared services infrastructure through the use Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) toolsets and practices
- Administer and maintain seamless connectivity and optimise network configurations for cloud-based services and collaborate with network teams to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues affecting cloud services.
- Provide expert advice on solution design to ensure the system design remains robust, fit for purpose and meets requirements.
- Document system configuration, and procedures ensuring that they are maintained, reflect best practice for system design and appropriately comply with recognised Departmental and Government ICT policies.
- Implement and manage policies, access controls, and resource optimization in the Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design Azure cloud solutions that meet business needs.
- Monitor performance to identify areas of improvement and opportunities to improve application and platform performance.
- Monitor cloud costs and usage and provide insights and reports to product owners to optimise spending and budget allocations.
About you:
- Microsoft Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or relevant Azure certifications are a plus.
- Technology expert well-versed in Microsoft Azure and have a strong focus on networking, experience in Entra and ensuring security and compliance within the cloud environment.
