The perfect match
AAMC is a vehicle loss assessing company looking to utilise technology to radically improve the way our teams do their work, engage with clients and get people back in their cars fast.
We are seeking a creative thinker, ready to cut loose from the complex approval processes and hierarchies of the corporate world and let your sometimes quirky solutions be heard. If you’re a counter-intuitive thinker, even a misfit within normal structures but have boundless optimism while still being able to spot a problem before it happens and with a desire to make the world better (our world) then you will fit right in.
You might be working with people from anywhere in our business to design a solution one day, and the next you’ll be rolling up your sleeves to develop and test your ideas. Or you might need to extract the jumble of thoughts a group of not-so-tech savvy managers might have to convert into a set of instructions for external consultants. This role is as diverse as the people we employ and the organisations we work with, so if you like to work in a neat little box within a nice neat structure, this is probably not the role for you. We love those people too, that’s just not how we roll.
While there are definitely some things we need you to know, we don’t expect you to know everything. A curious mind and a natural tendency for lifelong learning will get you a great big gold star. If you love learning that much, we will even help you scratch that itch by providing plenty of informal and formal learning opportunities if you so desire.
Did we mention you can do all of this from the comfort of your own home full time? Nice hey! Commuting is a pain, so we’ve decided to just not do it. It also means you can live anywhere in the country as long as you have great internet speed.
Now for the tech stuff.
The things we need you to know
Information security is definitely a big deal in our industry so you will ensure secure-by-design principles are followed, deliver documented technical specifications and be a whiz at ensuring solutions are robust while still being maintainable.
Our perfect unicorn will have at least 2 years’ experience with the below.
Azure resources such as:
- Functions (with Python)
- Service Bus
- Logic Apps
- Key Vault
- Storage accounts (Blob and SFTP)
- Cosmos Db
- Azure Data Explorer
- API Management
Programming tools such as:
- Docker
- GitHub
- Github Actions (with Terraform)
- VS Code
- JIRA and Confluence
WAIT! Don’t close the advert if you don’t have all of this. Unicorns are great but we’re also realists. Maybe you have a lot of experience in some of these things and a little in others. Or, maybe you have some experience across most of these things and absolutely none in a few that overall aren’t exactly showstoppers (looking at you JIRA and Confluence). Just send us an outline in your application of where your experience aligns with the above items, and we can work from there.
We’re not going to lie, this will be a busy role as you will be the only one of your kind in the team. But it is a great team, full of supportive team members who like to problem solve together and pitch in and help when things get a bit hectic. We also have a great group of suppliers and consultants to provide expert advice, guidance and a helping hand to solve those extra tricky problems so you will never be left in some dark corner, all alone, to fend for yourself.
If this all sounds great
If you think this role has your name all over it, then APPLY! We’d love to hear from you.
Your resume should address the general technical criteria outlined in this advertisement but we would love to see what you’re all about as a person in your cover letter.
Once we’ve read your info and realised you are a superstar, or a superstar in the making, we will be in contact to have a chat and provide you with a proper position description to really get down into the detail.
