Are you an experienced and motivated individual looking to lead a dynamic team in a bustling university environment? QUT Guild is seeking a dedicated Bars Supervisor to oversee the operations of two thriving uni bars - Botanic Bar and Grove Bar.
About the Role:
As a Bars Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our bars. You will supervise bar staff, manage nightly operations, and maintain high standards of customer service. This role requires someone who is self-motivated, able to work autonomously, and has strong leadership skills. 30 hours per week are on offer throughout the semester, with less hours expected during quieter periods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise bar staff during night shifts, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Oversee cash handling procedures, including opening and closing checklists and cash reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies related to the responsible sale and service of alcohol.
- Perform closing duties, including cleaning, sanitising the bar area, securing the premises, and preparing for the next shift.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Monitor inventory levels and report ordering requirements to the Bar Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the venue, including bar tops, equipment, floor area, and storage areas.
- Conduct regular audits of in-venue marketing and report updates to the Bar Manager.
- Oversee bookings and ensure on-the-day customer satisfaction.
- Manage security, musicians, and other external contractors as required.
- Drive in-house promotions and meet KPIs through exceptional upselling skills.
- Oversee food handling procedures
- Ensure appropriate music and lighting levels during shifts.
- Report staff misconduct to the Bar Manager for appropriate performance management.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and handle night shifts effectively.
- Knowledge of cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
- RMLV Certificate desired but not essential.
