AddressThe Melbourne Renegades are looking for a BBL Head Coach, for the BBL|14 and BBL|15 seasons. The Head Coach is responsible for setting the overall on-field strategic and tactical direction of the Club to ensure sustained on-field success of the Melbourne Renegades.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Devise, implement and manage the Melbourne Renegades' overall game plan and match strategies.
- Establish a culture and style of play which is supported by key systems and processes that will contribute to consistent high performance.
- Build, develop and mentor coaching and support services structure.
- Develop and execute training plans to meet individual player and team needs.
- Provide hands-on technical expertise by conducting net sessions, fielding practice, and overseeing conditioning sessions to ensure the highest level of player performance is achieved and maintained.
- Be a member of the List Management Group and proactively assist in the recruitment of players.
- Be a member of the Match Selection Committee to assist in the selection of teams and squads.
- As one of the key faces of the club, being available for media interviews as required.
- Build positive relationships with key external stakeholders (sponsors, media, broadcasters, CA and CV).
About You
The successful candidate will be a strong team leader, communicator and strategist who has demonstrated experience in building teams and fostering a team-first culture. They will be confident and capable of making difficult decisions in the best interest of the team and Club, and have a proven ability to plan strategically and set the tone for the style of play to deliver sustained success.
To be considered, you will meet the below criteria:
- Level 3 Cricket Australia Coaching Accreditation or equivalent internationally recognised certification
- Extensive cricket coaching experience at first class level in Australia or overseas
- Strong understanding of the T20 cricket format and BBL
- An ability to develop and implement a BBL tournament plan including, but not limited to pre-tournament preparation, practice sessions and skill development, match plans, opposition analysis, player reviews and feedback, and support staff management and development
- Sound understanding of BBL List Management requirements and rules
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
- Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (or arranged upon appointment)
