The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner/Schedulerto join the Maintenance team. The Bengalla Maintenance Team is a multi-discipline team that is responsible for the planning and execution of preventative and breakdown maintenance of all Heavy Mining Equipment within the Pit.
Working closely with the broader Maintenance team, the Maintenance Planner plays a pivotal role in maintaining equipment reliability and availability by ensuring that weekly maintenance schedules and fully planned work packages are delivered to the execution teams to optimise resource availability and align to operational priorities.
Working Monday to Friday dayshift, you will be responsible for:
- Collecting and processing all maintenance and equipment related data. Tracking, reporting and providing recommendations to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and cost, to the reliability engineering department
- Establishing maintenance plans for the safe and efficient execution of work
- Ensuring all correct work instructions, parts, services, labour, skills, tools, and equipment are identified for planned jobs
- Plan, facilitate shutdown meetings, component track and review shutdowns for all HME within your Planner group
- Facilitate innovative maintenance improvement and defect elimination projects to continually improve the assets
- Work closely with site OEM representatives to identify reliability improvement opportunities
- Updating and administering Pulse configurations to support the Work Management process
Qualifications and experience
Along with your extensive knowledge and experience in maintenance planning, you will be a self-motivated leader who will take responsibility for the planning for a fleet of machines and looking to make a difference. Exhibiting yourself as a clear and innovative thinker, you will have prior knowledge of strategic maintenance to provide recommendations and facilitate continuous improvement projects to manage the equipment life cycle and eliminate unscheduled downtime.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications in a Mechanical/Electrical field or an Engineering background.
- A good understanding of the technical aspects related to Mechanical/Electrical systems in heavy mobile equipment
- Effective use and experience with CMMS
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Maintenance Planner role in the Mining Industry (desirable)
- High computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Project, Excel, and Word
- Confidence and Competence collaborating with Leadership & Management to ensure Safety, Production and Compliance outcomes are met
- Demonstrated understanding of work management process
- Negotiation and facilitation skills
- Understanding of Maintenance budgetary processes
