About the role

BDO WA are currently seeking an experienced Bids Manager to join our Clients and Markets team. This role will support all service lines in the management and development of compelling bid documents, working closely with Partners / senior staff to develop quality content in a timely manner.

What you will need to succeed

• Relevant tertiary qualification (marketing, communications, PR, or journalism would be highly desirable)
• Strong experience producing bids in response to detailed requests for proposal/tender, ideally in a professional services firm
• Excellent business writing, proofreading, and editing skills, with exceptional attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and develop rapport with all stakeholders
• Confidence coordinating (and when required, challenging) content provided by subject matter experts, including senior leaders
• Capability and experience to comply with brand guidelines (visual and tone)

Some of your key responsibilities include:

• Effectively and efficiently managing bids
• Working with Partners and subject matter experts to capture the solution and articulate it to the client / target in a compelling way
• Guiding Partners / senior staff on achieving the best outcome for the firm, for all bids managed, including Go / No Go advice
• Obtaining feedback on bids through client debriefs, enabling continuous learning and improvement
• Maintaining digital tools and platforms (including SharePoint) for the capture and storage of data/information relevant to the bid process
• Providing training and coaching to ensure the quality and consistency of bids produced by the audit and assurance team
• Continually developing an understanding of service offerings across the firm
• Using the firm’s CRM system for tracking and reporting purposes, and to capture relevant information
• Contributing to improvement initiatives and projects that enhance BDO’s bid capability across Australia
• Developing the value proposition of the service line to grow into new advice opportunities
• Encouraging a proactive approach to internal communications relating to bids, including a focus on celebrating successes
