The Financial Controller role has arisen to due to current incumbent being promoted to Head of FP+A, on his way to subsequently aligning for the Head of Finance role.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Financial Controller will lead a small team of finance professionals to deliver accurate financial accounting and compliance, payroll, and ensure that robust controls are in place whilst enabling a platform for business insight and value add is delivered. The role will assist in leading finance towards the vision of being a “true business partner” by ensuring the base accounting is accurate and reliable. In doing so, the incumbent will form strong relationships with key business stakeholders both locally and globally.
The role will lead and manage the accounting, tax, treasury, audit, inventory, billing, payables, payroll, reporting and controls for Australia. The Financial Controller is expected to make sound decisions in areas of responsibility, ensuring appropriate stakeholder management with the Australian teams, and international teams where required. The role requires both leadership and a hands-on approach to successfully deliver the responsibilities.
The role will require an individual who can work autonomously whilst engaging stakeholders, has deep Financial Controller experience, is a great leader who loves developing their team, yet can be hands on with the team to get the job done. A good relationship builder, who constantly strives to add value as a partner, looks for continuous improvement, has a customer focused mindset, and is a real team player.
Requirements:
- CPA or CA (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered)
- 3 - 6 years’ experience in a similar role; 10 – 15 years total relevant work experience;
- 3-6 years’ staff management, including strong development focused leadership
- Experience in financial accounting for detailed and complex inventories
- Strong attention to detail skill set, “get it right the first time” mentality
- Superior communication & influencing skills.
