Job Title: Billing and Credit Officer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a Billing and Credit Officer for a 6-month assignment with the possibility to extend for the right candidate. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functioning of Billing and Credit-related processes. This position involves processing exceptions, resolving disputes, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with established guidelines and terms. The Billing and Credit Officer will be responsible for maintaining efficient billing workflows, maximizing cash flow, and contributing to revenue recovery efforts.

Pay Rate: $54-$55 per hour

Location: Keswick

Responsibilities:

• Process exceptions and perform necessary billing adjustments promptly, adhering to established policies and procedures.
• Monitor outstanding and overdue debts, actively liaising with Retailers to facilitate timely collection.
• Identify root causes of workflow exceptions and recommend preventative system and process enhancements.
• Handle activities related to market compliance, meter data, billing, remittance, and accounts receivable (credit), aligning with policies and agreements such as those set by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and Retailers.
• Process, negotiate, and resolve Retailer inquiries/complaints and cases referred by Energy and Water Ombudsman SA (EWOSA) promptly, accurately, and effectively.
• Manage the processing and resolution of retailer disputes in accordance with market rules and under the guidance of the Manager or Team Leader.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
• SAP Experience
• Proven experience in Billing and Credit functions within the energy sector or a related industry.
• Strong understanding of market compliance, meter data, and billing processes.
• Excellent knowledge of relevant policies, agreements, and market rules (e.g., AEMO).
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address root causes.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with Retailers and resolve inquiries/complaints promptly.
• Familiarity with Energy and Water Ombudsman processes and procedures.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in billing adjustments and dispute resolutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing operational requirements.
