About Flinders Health and Medical Research Building
At the beginning of 2022, construction commenced on the $255 million Flinders Health and Medical Research Building (FHMRB). Due to open in the first quarter of 2024, the FHMRB will enable researchers, practitioners and industry partners to work together more closely than ever before, creating a hub of collaboration within southern Adelaide’s own biomedical research precinct. Located adjacent to Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders Private Hospital, it will be the focal point of research informed by genuine patient need, positioned to make an immediate improvement to people’s health and wellbeing.
About the Role
The Technical Support Officer will provide general technical assistance within the Bioplatform facilities with a focus on Flow Cytometry. The co-located Bioplatforms within the Health and Medical Research Building encompass’ a broad range of highly specialised instrumentation in the provision of research activities. This is across the Flow Cytometry, Omics, Microscopy and Cell Screen facilities within the College of Medicine and Public Health.
The role will work closely with the individual facilities academic leads, technical staff and researchers to provide continuity and service delivery across the BioPlatforms.
About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
Completion of a degree or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training
Experience within a wet laboratory environment including cell culture, protein purification and Microscopy
Experience in Flow Cytometry instrumentation / techniques / analytical software
Demonstrated well-developed organisational skills, including an ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and develop reliable systems for record keeping of specimens
Ability to work unsupervised for periods of time.
