Biostatistician/Epidemiologist - The Kirby Institute

- Remuneration: $119,440 - $140,802 + 17% Super and leave loading
- Location: Kensington, NSW (Hybrid working, work from home and from UNSW Sydney campus)

Why Your Role Matters:
As a Biostatistician/Epidemiologist, you will be responsible for the provision of high-quality statistical analyses for specific research projects on sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and blood-borne viruses (BBVS). Such projects may include statistical analyses related to prevention and treatment of STIs and BBVs, primarily using large routine national datasets including the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, the National HIV Registry, the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System and the Medicare Benefits Scheme. You will also support a national HPV immunisation data linkage study and a HIV data linkage study. In this position, you will also assist in the design of original research projects, at a variety of levels and will have the opportunity to develop original statistical methods.
The role of Biostatistician/Epidemiologist is within the and reports to the Senior Research Fellow.
Who You Are:
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated track record in infectious disease or related research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
- High level skills in relevant statistical packages including STATA, SASS, or R
- A track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
- High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
