5 Board vacancies 6 Board Meetings per year Remunerated positions with 3 year appointment Dairy Food Safety Victoria is the Statutory Authority responsible for ensuring national Food Safety standards are met by licensing all dairy premises operating in Victoria’s dairy industry and approving and ensuring compliance with Food Safety programs. It approves and monitors the implementation of Food Safety programs; administers the licensing system and ensures qualified persons are appointed as Authorised Officers. DFSV is instrumental in maintaining Victoria’s reputation for producing clean, safe and wholesome Dairy Foods. The Board is appointed by Cabinet via the Minister for Agriculture. The Board currently consists of seven members with the exception of the Chairperson and has 6 Non-Executive Director terms expiring as of 11th October 2024, and only 5 vacancies, as one is a direct appointment from the department. The role of the Board is to provide leadership and strategic guidance for Dairy Food Safety Victoria and to oversee management’s implementation of Dairy Food Safety Victoria’s Corporate Plan. The Board works as a team and meets on a regular basis. Board members must ensure that they can devote sufficient time and commitment to properly perform their role and duties on behalf of Dairy Food Safety Victoria.
