About the role
The Booking Officer is responsible for accurate clerical efficiency to ensure a smooth theatre bookings process for all hospital patients. The Booking Officer assists in achieving the goals of the Perioperative Suite, by working efficiently, effectively and co-operatively to contribute to the continuous quality improvement of the suite.
Flexibility and multi-skilling of the Booking Officer role is important to enable effective management of all admissions within the organisation. You will be working across two sites, Calvary Riverina Surgicentre and Calvary Riverina Hospital
Your main duties will include:
- Booking of patient surgery and hospital admissions.
- Working collaboratively and in consultation with all hospital departments particularly theatre management.
- Liaising with external medical specialist practices.
About you
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- High level organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to work both within a team environment and autonomously
Proficient knowledge and application of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Outlook)
Previous experience within a hospital environment or specialist medical practice is highly desirable
- Any experience in IPM software is desirable
- A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
