This role is at least a 6-month parental leave fixed-term contract.
We are seeking a Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our administration team to cover and help support our growing business. The role requires excellent organisational and communication skills, with an understanding of manufacturing being an advantage.
The Opportunity
The responsibility of the Bookkeeper/Accountant is to ensure that the financial records of the business are accurate and up-to-date. The following duties include but are not limited to:
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Weekly payroll
- Completing and lodging GST & BAS
- Lodgment of superannuation
- Liaising with external Accountant
- Checking and actioning emails
- General office administration
- Assisting and supporting staff when needed
About you
- Experienced and proficient in Small to Medium business accounting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Highly organised and effective time manager
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving skills and an ability to show initiative
- Ability to work independently
- Understanding of foreign currency dealings (not essential)
- Solid, relevant experience, preferably within a Fast Moving Consumer Goods business
Eligibility
- Completed relevant qualification in bookkeeping/accounting
- 5+ years’ experience, ideally in a small to medium sized business
- Experience using MYOB, ABM or similar accounting software
- Intermediate/advanced skills of the Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge and experience in financial accounting and Australian Accounting Standards.
