Job description

Smart Buildings Consolidated heads up a group of companies in the construction industry and is currently looking for a finance and Office Manager to look after all admin and finance areas of the business. With our office in Queanbeyan, we are looking for someone who can work full time, although reduced part time hours may be considered for the right person. Immediate start.

Salary range: Negotiable and will commensurate with experience

Reporting to the Directors and working closely with our accountant, the role will involve a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Complete and maintain all day-to-day admin and finance areas of the business
  • Process and manage AP and AR duties including monthly reconciliations
  • Weekly and fortnightly payroll processing for several entities, reporting and payments, including long service leave
  • Company insurance and licence renewal management
  • Complete all statutory obligations including compliance renewals, ATO reporting including monthly IAS and quarterly BAS, monthly payroll tax
  • Reconciliation of contract retentions
  • Credit card management
  • Complete all other statutory obligations
  • Monthly executive meeting minute taking and quarterly finance reporting
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required

To be considered for this role candidates must have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting. BAS Agent registration an advantage.
  • At least five years’ experience in a similar role with high level account reporting
  • Experience with STP and the full suite of payroll reporting and payment processes, including modern award interpretation and application
  • Reconcile EOM and EOY accounts in a timely manner and provide reports as required
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent precision and attention to detail
  • Outstanding organisational skills with effective time management
  • Ability and drive to meet deadlines, with a strong work ethic 
  • Experience with construction and cost/job coding
  • Experience working with a multi-entity business and inter-company transaction reconciliations preferable
  • Extensive experience with MYOB and Microsoft Office 
  • Ability to work in Australia
