Public Practice Bookkeeper / BAS Agent
Hybrid Work Model Available
Part or Full time considered (30 hours+ per week)
$65,000 - $80,000 pro rata

We are a stable Bookkeeping team - with an excellent client base that is steadily growing. 

We are looking for someone with accounts experience and will build the role to suit. So, if you are an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk, Bookkeeper, BAS Agent or Accountant please apply!


WHO ARE WE?

AVH Business Services is a well-established Practice specialising in Bookkeeping, Payroll, BAS and HR. We service clients all over Australia with a strong focus on the construction industry.

We specialise in Xero (however have  few MYOB clients) with an emphasis on streamlining processes for our clients and implementing procedures and policies for Accounting, Human Resource Management and essentially providing our clients with an holistic approach to business solutions and services.

Due to multiple business referrals and existing client demand, we are needing someone to join our team of 13 high achievers and take ownership of a few of our fabulous clients. Our Mondays have now turned into “Manic Mondays” and Fridays are fast becoming "Flatout Friyays" so if you have some hours available for us each Monday and Friday, we would be especially interested!

We have found a nice balance between remote work and in-office work - we now have 4 permanently remote workers in Central Queensland, Victoria and South West Queensland. Some of our local staff work from home a few days per week, and some choose to come in every day. We can accommodate what works best for each staff member for their own work/life balance.

Please note that only Registered BAS Agents with proven competency and experience are able to work fully remote from our office due to the supervisory and control requirements as stipulated by the TPB and level of autonomy that comes with remote working.

  • Are you an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk, Bookkeeper, qualified BAS Agent or somewhere in-between?

  • Certificate IV qualifications as a minimum; more experienced applicants welcome!
  • Experience in Xero essential
  • MYOB experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience in an accounts role
  • Minimum 2-3 days per week - full time hours may be available for the right applicant.
  • Availability on a Monday and Friday would be amazing
  • We are willing to consider further remote applicants based on qualifications, experience and suitability for the role. If this is to be the case, there would be initial attendance at our Brisbane head office for in-house training (and then some in-house team functions such as Christmas Parties etc)
  • We attend training days, accounting expos, ICB workshops and many more CPD opportunities

Responsibilities will vary based on your experience, but could include:

  • Processing accounts payable and receivable invoices
  • End to end payroll including SGC statements
  • Staying up to date with ever changing compliance dates throughout the industry (for clients and our practice alike)
  • Preparation of BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax, TPAR, Superannuation returns and Fuel Tax Credits
  • Workcover estimates, claims and liaison
  • Long Service Leave worker returns
  • Financial Reports
  • Cash flow forecasting and budgeting
  • Complete Xero set ups and conversions
  • Assistance with Grant Applications
  • Experience in Workbench, WorkFlowMax, Tradify, SimPro, BuilderTrend or Databuild beneficial; otherwise on the job training offered

Our office hours are 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with no overtime or weekend work. We work with each of our staff to find the right balance of hours that works mutually within these spread of hours. Some staff work 4 day weeks, some work part time across all days, and 2 staff don't have the same hours any 2 consecutive days, so we are truly flexible and work with you.
