About the role:
Waterways Australia Pty Ltd is seeking to appoint an experienced Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team at our Clovelly Park office on a fulltime basis for an immediate start.
Reporting to the Managing Director directly, the role will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the administrative functions of the business, ensuring all duties within your scope are completed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Weekly Payroll including Single Touch Payroll Reporting to the ATO
- Accounts Payable and Receivable
- BAS and PAYG preparation and submission to the Company Accountant
- Preparation of EOFY Accounts together with the Company Accountant
- Financial data entry
- General Ledger maintenance and reconciliations
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Preparation of weekly project reporting
- Assistance with HR, insurance and building administration
- Maintaining and ordering office supplies
- Paying overseas transactions in foreign currency
- Manage the daily administrative operations supporting our project team
About You:
To be successful in this role ideally you will possess qualifications in accounting supported by proven experience in all facets of bookkeeping. You will have the ability to work autonomously while supporting a small team.
Ideally you will have:
- Experience in a similar position (minimum 2 years proven experience)
- Experience with MYOB **Essential**
- Experience with basic MS Office software including excel, word and outlook
- Strong attention to detail
- High level of organisational skills
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Handle confidential information with discretion
- Diploma or degree in accounting
