We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialised Breast Care Nurse with a strong oncology background to join our Oncology team.
Within this dedicated role you will be providing care and support of breast cancer patients throughout their treatment journey, offering expert care, education, and emotional support.

Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a 339 bed, 22 operating theatre facility located in Southport, the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct. Specialities include and are not limited to: 24/7 Emergency Care Centre, Medical, Orthopaedic, Bariatric, Neurosurgical, Plastics, ENT & General Surgical, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology. Key Responsibilities:
· Provide specialized nursing care to patients with breast cancer, from diagnosis through all phases of treatment and follow-up.
· Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
· Offer education and counselling to patients and their families regarding breast cancer, treatment options, side effects, and post-treatment care.
· Coordinate diagnostic tests, treatments, and follow-up appointments to ensure seamless patient care.
· Advocate for patients' needs and preferences, ensuring they receive appropriate and timely medical attention.
· Participate in patient case reviews and contribute to clinical decision-making processes.
· Stay current with advancements in breast cancer treatment and care, incorporating evidence-based practices into nursing care.
· Assist in the development and delivery of educational programs for patients and staff.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, with a focus on oncology and breast cancer care
- Completion of Grad Cert in Breast Cancer Nursing or preparedness to enrol and complete this course
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care and support.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
