Primary purpose of the role
- The role undertakes a range of functions relating to maintaining timber, steel or concrete bridges, including assisting other trades. The role also operates a range of equipment or machinery and carries out advanced laboring. Key accountabilities
- Under limited supervision, perform routine and complex laboring/ manual tasks, including the safe use of a range of small plant and powered and non-powered hand tools. Work may be done in a team environment or independently.
- Solve routine problems that arise, refer to standard guidelines and manuals, and collaborate with supervisors and managers to resolve complex problems to minimize risks and achieve work goals.
- Participate in team meetings, planning and activities to support continuous improvement and the achievement of work goals.
- Understand and maintain knowledge of WHS legislation, policies and procedures, assessing and controlling risks, record management and industry requirements to minimize risk and model safe work behavior.
- Understand and complete work activities to the quality requirements specified for each task, including performing basic quality measurements and assurance processes, and completing basic reporting, to ensure tasks are completed correctly.
- Demonstrate the five ways of leading behaviors to deliver organizational outcomes for our customers, our people and communities for the greater good.
Key knowledge and experience
- Sound experience in a Road Worker Grade 3 role or industry equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability in using literacy and numeracy skills to complete work records and effectively communicate with work team.
Essential requirements
- Current Construction Industry White Card.
- Current unrestricted NSW motor vehicle driver’s license
- . Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed.
About you:
- Be reliable and have a positive attitude to work
- Physically fit and able to lift 15kg +
- Be available for 4 days a week 0630 AM till 1630 PM shifts 9 hours a day excluding break.
- Comfortable working at heights
- Have a current license and reliable transport
- Have an understanding of the importance of WHS
- Rights to work in Australia with no limitations.
