DutiesThe Budget Analyst will work within a team to provide advice to Government on:
- the development, monitoring and management of the State Budget;
- the provision of agency services and the financial performance of government agencies; and
- budgetary and financial issues and reforms as they arise.
While the position operates within a financial environment, it is well suited to applicants that possess broad skills and experience and that have the capacity to apply these skills in a range of situations. Support to develop the required level of financial awareness is available, if required. Financial qualifications are not essential.
In the context of the selection criteria, to be successful in the position applicants will have:
- proven capacity to deliver outputs within a small team;
- good verbal and written communication skills;
- an ability to understand a range of budget and agency specific issues, and identify and contribute to possible solutions; and
- capacity to analyse and interpret financial and non-financial information.

Desirable RequirementsDiploma or Advanced Diploma, completion, or partial completion, of relevant tertiary qualifications.
