About the role
We are currently looking for a Construction Manager to oversee the building division in metropolitan and regional areas of Queensland. The successful applicant will have the energy and drive to achieve business growth and enhance profitability. This is a "hands on" role which requires the ability to rise to the challenge and operate in a demanding environment.
Working closely with senior management, we want you to take ownership of delivering successful commercial outcomes on projects and meet industry KPI'S.

The ideal candidate must have:
- Insurance / Commercial / residential construction experience.
- Ability to provide leadership and support to the construction team
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment and prioritise.
- QBCC Licence essential
- Trade qualifications or background essential
- Building knowledge within the large loss/ insurance sector will be highly regarded.
- Strong communicator and ability to motivate and engage teams.
- Dispute resolution and negotiation skills.
- The ability to develop relationships with insurance clients and loss adjusters.
- Proven Leadership and performance in construction.
Role and responsibilities
- Manage operations within the building division, including financial and reporting aspects.
- Construction process is controlled and adheres to strict safety, quality, programme and financial guidelines
- Ensure that the construction team adopts and continually implements disciplines and procedures
- Provide outstanding customer service and utilise your communication skills to build and maintain our client relationships.
- Manage escalations and client conflict resolutions
- Mentor and coach staff by sharing your knowledge in practical ways to improve business processes
- Provide leadership and guidance to project managers, and estimators to achieve our budgets.
- Quality control and workplace health and safety monitoring
- Trade allocation and assessment

Occasional interstate travel to other offices, to assist in the increased workloads following major events may be required.
