- 72.5 hour fortnight
- Location: Petrie (relocating to Narangba), and on site
About our opportunity
Our Buildings and Facilities Operations team take care of over 1,800 community, office, sports and recreation buildings and public amenities and coastal facilities across the City of Moreton Bay. Our Building Inspectors:
- Provide expertise on building condition and compliance; including structural integrity, hydraulic and fire compliance, asbestos compliance, building safety, planned maintenance and renewal priorities
- Undertake scheduled inspections with quantitative targets, to ensure compliance comply with legal requirements, and report building defects and deficiencies
- Provide technical input, costing estimates and advice for the development programmed maintenance and renewal programs
- Undertake technical assessments and investigations
- Conduct building Pre-handover inspections at Practical Completion and conclusion of Defect Liability Period for new and refurbished building projects.
The team are currently based at Petrie and will be relocating to the brand new, purpose built Narangba Depot in the coming months.
About you
We're looking for your building construction industry experience, experience in conducting building surveys and knowledge of building structural integrity, asbestos compliance, fire and electrical safety and other building compliance matters. You'll also bring:
- Demonstrated knowledge of building construction matters
- Investigative, analytical, research and technical report writing skills
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment, interacting with internal and external customers
- Demonstrated knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and practices applicable to building services
- Possession of a current, completed Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) Residential Building Inspector licence (or ability to obtain within 3 months, at own expense)
- Asbestos Awareness Certificate of completion (or ability to obtain within 3 months, at own expense)
- Construction Induction Card competency
- Current class C driving licence (required.)
