About the Role
The role of Bulk Handling Maintenance Supervisor is to work closely with the Rollingstock Assets Manager to ensure that all aspects of Tasrail’s Bulk Handling Facilities are maintained safely, in a timely manner and in accordance with the relevant standards, procedures and Work Instructions. This role will also be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Hampshire and Melba Flats Bulk Handling facilities when they are brought into service.
To supervise and/or carry out day-to-day maintenance activities, ensuring appropriate personnel and material resources are in place to support the safe and timely running of Bulk Handling and ship loading services. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safe operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Supervision and allocation of daily work schedules for contractors and maintainers on site;
- Actively participate in facility maintenance and fault finding tasks in accordance with individually held trade qualifications and competencies (as required);
- Ensure all team members and contractors adopt safe work practices consistent with rail industry standards;
- Ensure all maintenance workers and contractors are appropriately inducted and have appropriate certificates and licences;
- Drive a positive culture shift within the maintenance team and Operations/Infrastructure;
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards;
- Be accountable for the quality of maintenance works;
- Implement improvements in maintenance tasks and equipment to improve operational performance;
- Increase reliability of Bulk Handling equipment though targeted maintenance and improvement tasks;
- Assist in developing weekly work plans and ensure appropriate resources and materials are distributed to required locations.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Relevant trade qualification (electrical preferred);
- Demonstrated experience successfully leading and coaching work teams;
- Extensive experience in heavy equipment maintenance (experience with Bulk Handling plant and equipment is preferred);
- Experience in the development of maintenance programs and scheduling;
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with effective problem-solving ability;
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills;
