About the Role:We have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor, with a high-performance mindset, to join our management team at our Longford plant, located 15 mins from Launceston, Tasmania. Reporting to the Plant Engineer this role forms an integral part of the engineering and maintenance team and responsible for leading a team of trades supporting the engineering/maintenance function. Your well-honed technical, plant operational and leadership skills will be fundamental to your candidacy, however success in this role requires a demonstration of leadership skills necessary in sustaining a culture of high performance, safety, team retention/development & continuous improvement. The successful individual should be prepared to show leadership qualities and provide support across the business to drive a culture of continuous improvement. Along with management and support to the Maintenance Team to ensure the attainment of production, quality, WHS and HR requirements and objectives. RESPONSIBILTIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:Follow-up, progress and completion of all maintenance tasks on the plantDaily management of direct reportsInitiation, implementation and completion of minor plant improvementsClear communication of maintenance and equipment related issuesManagement of contractors and specialist technicians Maintain a safe work environment for tradespersons and operatorsMonitor daily plant maintenance activities to ensure priorities are metEnsure immediate reaction to breakdowns and urgent work Liaise with operations personnel to ensure a high degree of availability and reliability of plant and equipment KEY CRITERIA: Mechanical or Electrical trade qualifications preferred.Experience in maintenance supervision or managementExperience in a FMCG environment would be highly desirableThe ability to plan, organise and control front line maintenance activities to optimize the use of available resourcesA thorough understanding of maintenance work management practicesProven ability to lead, manage and motivate staffGood computer skills including CMMS (SAP preference) Understanding of maintenance work planning and scheduling proceduresStrong capability to utilise problem solving tools such as PDCA, ‘5 Whys’ and KPIs to drive an outcome.
