We have partnered with a Vic State Government Agency on a digital transformation initiative and are looking to place a Business Analyst to join our team on a 5 month contract basis with a possibility to extend. The role will be based in Melbourne.
The Role:
You’ll mainly be responsible for gathering, validating and documenting business requirements. Modelling business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvements?. Identifying issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business impacts.
To be successful in this role you will have:
A minimum 3 years of proven business analytical experience. This work is business analysis and is not technical solution or delivery focused. This work will inform solution options analysis that will be undertaken by another party.
Experience performing analysis of potentially large, complex and high-profile initiatives, using appropriate tools and techniques to:
- understand current (AS-IS) business systems/processes and define future (TO-BE) state/process
- understand and contextualise business priorities, needs and requirements
- understand the context of the problem in relation to the business and government environment
- define or re-engineer proposed future states that balance strategic thinking with immediate local needs and constraints
- develop business cases for change, including options analysis, feasibility, cost and benefit estimation, investment logic, and benefits management planning
- document all findings in clear, easily understandable products
Experience developing and communicating analysis plan, including hypothesis, expected findings and possible conclusions to inform and guide stakeholders of the process
Experience with negotiating with business users, technical staff and product owners to achieve desired outcomes
Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to:
- lead workshops and work directly with stakeholders
- ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and provide leadership in your area of expertise
- negotiate, and resolve problem, challenging opinions where necessary to achieve quality solutions
- ability to consume/explore data sources to better understand business requirements/needs through advanced excel and/or SQL capabilities
