As a Technical Business Analyst, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. This role involves analysing business processes, systems, and data to identify opportunities for improvement, providing technical expertise and guidance to stakeholders, and facilitating the successful implementation of technology initiatives. The Technical Business Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality systems that align with business objectives.
What you will do
- Utilise technical expertise to translate business requirements into functional specifications and system designs. Work closely with development teams to ensure proposed solutions align with business objectives, technical feasibility, and architectural standards.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform decision-making and drive process improvements. Develop data models and data mapping documentation to facilitate data integration across systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their business needs, objectives, and challenges. Conduct thorough analysis of current systems, processes, and data to identify areas for improvement and gather detailed requirements for changes to/new technology solutions.Design and document system architecture, data flow, and user interfaces.
- Collaborate with testing teams to define test plans, test cases, and test scripts. Conduct thorough testing and participate in quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and usability of implemented systems.
What you have done
- 2+ years' experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably with a focus on the Australian energy market.
- Exposure to the following areas of the Australian energy market, including market operations, energy trading, settlement systems, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in requirements-gathering techniques, process modelling, data analysis, and solution design.
- Knowledge of energy market systems, protocols, and standards (e.g., NEM, AEMO, AS/NZS 4777) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
