About the role
Reporting to the Business Operations Manager, the Business Analyst contributes to operational successes of AAM’s managed assets through planning, strategy, directing and evaluating business performances. The Business Analyst contributes to existing and new business proposals and capital development by providing financial modelling, trends analysis and operational advice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively engage with the Directors, General Managers, Business Managers and Finance Partners of the various business units to develop, implement and execute analytical projects that drive efficiency and/or productivity within the operational businesses of AAM
- Support business units in the active management of biological, production, micro and macro based data to support the operational businesses
- Assist with the strategic direction, business enhancement and analytics to drive performance of the assets
- Proactively support the budgeting and forecasting processes with detailed financial analysis and reporting
- Support the development of business plans, operational and capital budgets.
- Support the Directors, General Managers, Business Managers to ensure that the operational plans, strategies, programs, projects, events, and objectives are planned, organised and aligned with each other, and are carried out effectively
- Work closely with the General Managers and Business Managers to monitor, measure and report on the achievement of operational objectives
- Assist with the development of quarterly board and monthly management & investment reports
- Ensure compliance with Company Policies and Procedures within the scope of the position
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position, with agriculture industry experience desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and modelling.
- Qualifications in Agribusiness/Commerce/Economics or equivalent experience desirable.
- High level document, report writing and business case development.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to commercial outcomes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain productive and cohesive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise work and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to exercise sound judgement and decision making.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of computer literacy and use of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
