Business Analyst - Capital Markets (Commodities)

We've been engaged by a large Australian financial institution to provide resources for a range of Murex projects.
Joining this program you will have the benefit of working with an established team working directly with onsite staff, fully involved in the project initiation through to project implementation.
Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets, specifically with expertise in Commodities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in completing BRD and FRD for our Capital Markets projects.
The focus will be on transitioning from the design-build phase to working closely with Finance Operations, Risk Management, and Treasury teams. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of critical processes that align with industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements for Capital Markets projects, with a specific emphasis on Commodities.
- Develop comprehensive BRD and FRD to guide the design and implementation phases.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance Operations, Risk Management, and Treasury, to ensure seamless integration of business processes.
- Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure a common understanding of project requirements and objectives.
- Conduct thorough analysis of current business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Assist in the creation and execution of test cases, ensuring the quality and reliability of developed solutions.
- Provide support during the testing phase, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes, incorporating relevant knowledge into project deliverables.
Skills
Must have
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Capital Markets, with a focus on Commodities.
- Proven experience in completing BRD and FRD for complex projects.
- In-depth knowledge of Capital Markets processes, instruments, and trading systems, particularly in the Commodities space.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into detailed and comprehensive requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and negotiations between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies and the SDLC.
- Experience working with Finance Operations, Risk Management, and Treasury teams.
- Experience with implementing and optimizing trading systems for Commodities.
Nice to have
- Experience with Carbon Trading
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to Capital Markets and Commodities.
- Previous experience with leading technology platforms and tools used in the Capital Markets industry.
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools.
- Relevant certifications in Business Analysis, Project Management, or Capital Markets.
