As Business Analyst/Project Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing the implementation of a research sample management system for various research laboratories across UQ. You will liaise with the system vendor, the project sponsors, laboratory staff and other stakeholders to ensure that the system meets the business needs and objectives of the end users and satisfies applicable compliance obligations.
Key responsibilities include:
Conduct business analysis activities such as eliciting, analysing, and documenting the business requirements and the current and future state processes and workflows of the laboratories implementing the system, to determine the implementation method.
Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close the project according to the agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks.
Coordinate and communicate with the system vendor, the project sponsors, the laboratory staff, the IT team, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage the system configuration, user acceptance testing, deployment, integration, training, and support activities.
Evaluate the system performance, benefits realization, user satisfaction, and lessons learned after the project completion.
Prepare and maintain project documentation such as project plan, status reports, risk register, change log, etc.
Attend and participate in project steering committee meetings.
Any other responsibilities in line with the level of the role as directed by the Associate Director, Research Management Systems.
May be required to supervise and coordinate the activities of other project team members.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months at HEW Level 8. A part-time appointment (minimum 60% FTE) will be considered.
Flexible employment options may include part-time, hybrid work (including remote work), variable start/finish times, and flex-time.
About YouWe are looking for an experienced Business Analyst / Project Manager specialising in system implementation projects. You will have:
Postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience as a Project Manager/Business Analyst with a focus on system implementation projects; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
Experience in a medium-sized SAAS implementation in a large organisation with multiple stakeholders using a recognised project management methodology.
Experience conducting business analysis activities including current state and future state analysis, change identification, and relevant documentation using standard business analysis practices.
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, coupled with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize own workload, work independently as well as collaboratively in teams, and meet deadlines.
The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
