Business Development Manager - Drives Service

Join us as Business Development Manager for our Motion Business Area where you will be responsible for delivering lifecycle service sales for our Motion Drives Business. You will be responsible for the implementation of strategic sales goals, operational targets, and their achievement to maximize growth and financial results in your region consisting of Western Australia. There will be a strong focus on developing and implementing strategies to drive product sales and new lifecycle service business to our large existing install base throughout the Mining, Oil & Gas, Utilities, and buildings industry sectors.
Reporting to the Service Sales Manager and this position will be based in Kewdale and Perth, Australia.
Your responsibilities
- Maintaining customer relationships and enhancing customers’ understanding of ABBs’ full product offering
- Managing existing customers in addition to new Business Development through lead generation and opportunity development
- Planning sales opportunities through use of sales force, preparing sales plans, and performing status reviews
- Partnering with Local Business Unit team members (also Front-End Sales functions) for assigned customers to maximize profits
- Ensuring successful outcomes of transactions, contracts and proposals through effective product/solution presentations and negotiations
- Preparing offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department and ensuring appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers are adhered to
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 3 years of experience in a Product and Service sales development role and be able to demonstrate a strong track record working across End customers, OEMs, EPC’s, and Channel Partners
- Technical understanding of MV & LV Drives products so relevant Industry exposure is preferred
- Able to communicate effectively and be able to build strong relationships at all levels internally and within customer organizations
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work autonomously without supervision is essential for success in the role
- You will be highly organized, with the ability to priorities and plan jobs to meet customer requirements within agreed timeframes
- Industrial process application knowledge of variable speed drives and experience working in automated manufacturing or mining industries would be highly regarded along with a current electrical or restricted electrical license
